Katie Lorenz is the founder and creative force behind Two Bird Blooms, a garden-led, home-based floral design studio in Wellesley, Massachusetts.

Specializing in growing within small spaces and maximizing the potential of her suburban backyard, she cultivates hundreds of varieties of dahlias, zinnias, ranunculus, and other specialty cut flowers.

In addition to working with her own locally grown blooms, Katie sources premium florals from regional wholesalers and flower farmers to create artful designs for intimate events, installations, weddings, special occasions, and workshops. Her bouquets are available weekly at Fells Market in Wellesley and Volante Farms in Needham.

Prior to founding Two Bird Blooms, Katie built her career as an occupational therapist—a profession that reflects her natural inclination as a problem solver and her belief in the power of small, meaningful changes to improve people’s lives. She draws ongoing inspiration from art and nature, where creativity and calm intersect. Katie values genuine connection and enjoys meeting new people, always seeking thoughtful ways to bring beauty and joy into everyday moments.

Outside of the garden, Katie can often be found exploring with her “two birds”—her children—and her husband, usually somewhere along the nearest beach.
